BAGERHAT: On the occasion of the Great Victory Day, approximately 300 patients were
provided with free eye treatment in Bagerhat. The day-long medical camp was
organized on Monday (December 16) at the Bagerhat Eye Hospital by a non-governmental
organization named Vision Bangladesh Health and Education Society.
During the event, patients arriving from distant areas were provided with free
medical consultations along with necessary medicines and eyeglasses.
Sheikh Mahfuz Ahmed, who traveled from Morrelganj for treatment, said, "I was able
to receive services completely free of charge. The doctors examined my eyes and
provided me with medicine and glasses. It didn't cost any money."
Another patient, Morium Begum, shared her experience, saying, "The doctors told me I
need cataract surgery. They noted down all my details today and assured me that the
surgery would be performed for free at a later date."
Md. Enamul Islam, Assistant Physician at Bagerhat Eye Hospital, stated, "To honor
the Great Victory Day, Vision Bangladesh Health and Education Society organized this
initiative at our hospital to provide entirely free eye care services.
In addition to general eye treatments, we have distributed free medicine and
eyeglasses to those in need. Furthermore, we have identified patients requiring
cataract surgery today; their operations will be conducted free of cost in the near
future."
